Black Fezaa

So I finally get around to making a supposedly decently strong Blackwings deck.

Unfortunately for me, the first 10 games with it were against Six Samurai...

Sirocco is quite the dead draw against Samurai, is it not?

Masked Heros in the Future

Just thinking...

That other than Vapor and Gouka, its rather impossible, barring a reprint of Mask Change, to have them ONLY be summonable by Mask Change(or other cards with "Treat as summoned by Mask Change)

Meaning they would have to be able to be summoned some other way from the Extra deck... and Mask Change is just a better way of bringing them out.

EG: Tribute 1 DARK Hero monster and pay 2000 life to special summon from extra deck. (This card cannot be special summoned except from the extra deck.)(Although the second part comes directly from being a Fusion monster without the ability to be fusion summoned)

This way Mask Change can still be used to summon this guy, yet without Mask Change its still usable.

Also I think in the 1st episode of Zexal, the opponent will summon a precisely 3000 attack monster and almost kill Yuma with it.

Thats all for today.

SASSOU TOUJOU!

Today I joined a few of my friends and attended a team tournament @ Akiba.

Because our leader was invited to the tournament, we did not have to pay any entry fee

Funny story is that some of their team members did enter the tournament and had already paid... which is why we scrambled to form another 3 person team.

However, should our team manage to top 4 (out of 16!), we would be forced to pay the entry fee or forefeit the top prizes. Which kinda would defeat the purpose of attending THIS tournament instead of the few others we could attend also going on today.

Also because unless you win 1st place, which we wanted the OTHER 3 man group from the team to get, you're looking at a net loss...

The solution? Build a fun deck and scrub on purpose!

Actually we wanted to do this so we could cut out of the tourney early and trade/etc.

Anyhows, all 3 of us ran the same deck today:

Lots of things today!

First and foremost: Non YGO related but
I realized that Sieg Sol Freed is the a Sun dragon.
Funny that my ace card/card that I am sadly completely and horribly dependant on is also named after the sun.

Some Yugioh.

Today I joined an 8 person tourney for fun.
The prize pool was "horrible cards you wanted to get rid of"
EBI Whale, Scar Warrior, Dark Nephtys, Gaia Drake, Machinle Infinity, and someone put a 100 yen coin.
The other prizes were worse.
The #1 most wanted prize was: The 100 yen coin.

Another thought for today...
Hero Arrive... half your life points seems steep and thats why nobody is trying it, but

It.
Is.
Amazing.

Everyone who doesnt think its good should read the words "Special Summon From Your Deck".

It special summons things from the deck that leads straight to Stratos plays to destroy spells and traps
Not to mention it goes straight into Fusion Gate.

I re-made my Destiny Diva deck... with some new and updated changes for the sole purpose of summoning more TG - Hyper Librarian.
Said changes include dropping Dark Hole, and adding a 2nd Sea Archer.

And apparently, with 2 TG - Hyper Librarian,

In one turn, I moved through over 20 cards.
Given some of those were D - Draw and Allure, but still.
Moving through over half your deck... In one turn, is insane.

Also it makes not being able to summon Dark Armed due to full card zones so much more annoying.
"End Phase discard. 2 Deep Sea Diva, 1 Dark Armed Dragon, 1 Miracle Fusion, 1 Dark Hole..."
Opponent :O

And finally one very last very important thing.

There are very few ways nowadays to re-use spells...

This cat is not a beast, by the way.

First thing that pops into mind would be "Level 2... Junk Synchron?"

Then,

Wow.

Right?

Thats all for today.

Rauzes goes to Jump Festa and GWCS!

To get ahead in the line, and so we wouldn't have to wait 6+ Hours for Premium Pack 13s, I joined the Yugioh club from a University, which was hosting their own tournament.

The tournament started at 11PM and ended at 4AM.

5th Annual Gruez Waseda Championship! (GWCS)

The Prize Pool:
1st Place: 1 Box of Hidden Arsenal 1, 1 Box of Hidden Arsenal 2, Pre-Searched packs: 1X LODT, 1X TREV. (Not mentioned: 3 Warrior of Mist Valley 1st Edition.)
2nd Place: 1 Kizan, 1 1st Edition Ultra Solemn Warning, 1 Natural Palkion, 1 Krystia, 1 Elemental Hero Gaia(DT Normal Rare), A fat stack of pre-searched Packs
3rd Place: 1 Five God Dragon, 1 Super Polymerization, 1 Krystia, 1 The Tricky(DT Normal rare), more pre-searched Packs
4th Place, 5th Place: Some pre-searched Packs
6th Place: Limited edition Chopper Keychain, 10 Tournament Packs
7th through 9th Place: Limited Edition Chopper drink Glasses.

(Actually the Chopper Drink Glasses are worth around 1500 yen e/a, so they worst prizes are actually 4th and 5th place.)

Also a rather random picture of Chopper.

Results:
1st: Six Samurai
2nd: BF
3rd: Debris
4th: BF
5th: Six Samurai
6h, 7th, 8th, 9th: Hero Beat, Hero Beat, Gladiator Beast, Six Samurai

I was actually also invited to another tournament at the same time, but already promised to join this one. I met the guys from the other tournament in the line on Saturday, though.

Their results were:
1st: Six Samurai
2nd: Debris
3rd: Debris
4th: Debris.
6 people in their tournament.

I believe all(or all but one) of them were from Tokyo Business Technology University... Or however that translates to in English.

Around 430AM we left and headed for the event location.

Although we were quite far behind in the line, we were in the 18th batch of about 75-100 people per batch.
Which is, as one of the people I was with put it, VERY good for someone who spent the night with a roof over their heads and had food with them, as opposed to spending the night in the freezing cold without food(or toilet!)

But also because we let 20ish people go ahead of us. We were waiting for the other group of friends I mentioned just now.

After waiting in line for about 1 hour(Playing MH), we moved inside, where we were put in more groups(which is where I found out which batch we were in)

On the way back there were too many people taking pictures of this...

Yeah... Lots of people

A closeup of what people do in line: Stay warm. Play Yugioh, Play Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, make trades, play more Monster Hunter.
Not pictured: Sleep

Actually in line we were playing some MH. All 32 Guild Halls were FULL, so we had to change channel to find a hall to use O.O

But my Berio S armor is still better than most peoples we saw :3

Waiting in line.
Decks used during Jump festa, from left to right:
GB, Six Sam, BF, Six Sam(Purple Hat), Debris, Six Sam.

The "official guide book"

After waiting in line until about 8AM, they let us in!

Its so much easier waiting with friends, because you can just spend the time chatting/opening the 2 boxes of Hidden Arsenal.

There was a guy our age sitting near us who was alone, so we talked to him and made new friends.

PP13 GETS!

We headed over to the Yugioh section.

For the 1V1 section, Every time you lose, you have to leave, and you get 1 free Jump Festa pack.
If you win, you stay on.

If you get 3 wins IN A ROW, you leave as well, and receive 5 Jump Festa packs.

The tournament entry card
Waiting in line is a thousand times better with friends.

And the win/loss stamp is a SCAPEGOAT!
Awwwwwwwwww

I felt this deserved mentioning...
For Duel Terminal(nothing special with it as well), just to play
There was a 75 Minute wait.

After all of us came out(some of us with 3 wins, some with just 1 loss, etc), we waited for the other club members that didnt join the earlier tournament, and we decided to go for the team tournament.

The main reason was the wait was 30 minutes to get in, as opposed to 2 hours for the single, but also because we were meeting up with some other club members who did not join us for the all night tournament.

A few more club members from the Tokyo Buisness Technology University also met up with us.

In the team tournament, each player plays a duel. Out of the 3 players, the team who got 2 wins gets a team win.

2 team wins in a row means the team leaves, with 3 packs per person.

We actually had, between the two clubs + 1 Extra random, about 21 people, all going for the team tournament, so 7 teams.

We also mixed up members of the clubs so people would make new friends, and to make sure that the teams were balanced and strong(most of the members agreed to pool the winning packs, then distribute so everyone had an equal number)

That being said I knew both the people I teamed up with from Konami Card Game Center free match sessions, both from the Business Tech school.

My teammates were Debris Control(3 weeks+ straight 10+ Win streak/Japan Top 8 guy at Konami CGC), and Hero Beat(also a regular at Konami CGC with a lot of wins(not too sure whether he gets 10+ win streaks often, but still.))

So our team was Debris Beat on the left, Hero Beat(me) in the middle, and Hero Beat on the right.

Actually, according to the free match rules and the rules for that day, teams/people were NOT allowed to duel: 1) Their friends, and 2) People they had already dueled that day.

So when the 21 of us lined up together, there were 7 teams in a row, none of which were allowed to play against each other, which caused a LOT of problems for the staff(and space) when there were 3 tables that opened up(the winning team got 2 wins in a row).

Another interesting use of this is when the opponents-to-be recognized us from Konami CGC.
They were like "Judge, we've played these people just now", just to get out of playing us.

Guess they didn't like the idea of playing against a team consisting of THE people who notoriously go 10ish wins in a row every Thursday.

As for the people who DID play against us, we won all of our team games. We as a team went 8 wins in a row. I believe my personal record was 6-2. My teammates went 7-1. Both of them.

At around 3 I had to head off, so to honor our deal about having everyone have equal winnings of packs, I passed 2 to my friends, and headed off. My total winnings was actually 17 packs, but I ended up with 15 only.

The others, who stayed until the end of the day(another 3 hours), left with 18 each.

1 Match Strategy

Today I encountered a very VERY interesting strategy.

In tournaments, most people focus on winning 2 games, outright.

However, the better way to look at the tournament scene is that you need one MATCH win, not two GAME wins, and think in matches.

On the first game, instead of fighting back, the player used very little cards.

The strategy, it seemed, was to extend the game as much as possible, whilst not showing the opponent his/her cards.

In fact, all game ones only saw plays of generic cards such as Book of Moon, Torrential, Gorz, and Mirror force.
And I think one Warning somewhere along the line.

Pretending to be a weak player also helped... until he beat the one of the store's top regulars...

The end result was a loss for game one(Ahem: ALL but one match).
In fact, I believe the player sometimes threw the first game for this strategy...

BUT

At the end of game one was that the player using this strategy knew EXACTLY what he/she was up against, some if not all of the tech, being able to choose who starts first the next game, a giant information advantage, leading to the best possible side change.

Whilst the opponent... cant really side change anything without risking the 2nd and 3rd game.

Meaning that, as a result, you win Game 2.

All thats left is that you win Game 3. And you STILL have a chunk of information advantage above the opponent.

The actual deck he used as BF, but the same strategy can be applied to most other decks.

He was 2nd place today.

Thats all for today.

SASSOU TOUJOU!

With the release of Hero Arrive, Masked Change, etc, this seems much easier to shout out while playing Heroes.

Personally I dont really find Masked Change all that amazing...

Youre spending two cards to summon one card. Even if you chain to something that messes you up, youre only breaking even...

I see it in a similar light to Swallows Nest... Only here, options are super limited.

Oh and sending to graveyard isnt a cost. Its an effect. Chain book of Moon and youre losing cards super fast.

On the topic of SASSOU TOUJOU!!, somebody today at the free battle was saying this EVERY TIME He summoned Neos.

In a Neos Beat deck.

He shut up midway though.

I used GBs today. 3 wins -> 1 Win -> Loss/Drop.

GBs take forever to win... I only got 6 games in.

SIN RED SYNCHRO.deck!

Yeah I caught your attention with that title didnt I?

The only Sin Dragon monster that can be used in synchros is Red Eyes, the only saving point.

So why not use this to your advantage?

Grow Up Bulb pops into mind, because its a level 1 tuner that can be used twice.

Though, milling off Red Eyes/Sin Red Eyes sometimes is quite sad.

The other tuner present in the deck is Effect Veiler.
Other than being all round good, this choice of tuner was chosen because it can be used with or without Red Eyes around to be synchro food.

The other tuner that I considered, but did not make it to the final cut was Recycle Genex.
Why can be summed up in about 3 words: Real. Genex. Kurokishian.
Together with Blue Eyes or Stardust, this guy makes Kurokishian.

Logically, the two level 1 tuner slots could be any two of these above three(or 2 Effect Veiler. Or 2 Recycle Genex.)
In full honesty, I would run 1 Veiler and 1 Genex. I just dont have the Kurokishian. T.T

Sin of Synchro/41

1 Demise of the Land

1 Trade In
2 Book of Moon
3 Advanced Draw
1 Allure of Darkness

Traps/3
3 Royal Decree

Playing:

As already explained above, using of the Sin Dragons to acquire instant synchro fodder(or use Mausoleum to normal summon a blue eyes or something, and synchro up.

If you dont have a tuner on hand, which you wont, you can always use the Sin Dragons to attack. Sin Blue Eyes at 3000ATK is a force to be reckoned with.

Whilst Exiled force COULD be Smashing Ground/Fissure, this deck doesnt really have a problem with not normal summoning, the prospect of targeting to destroy is simply better.

SHOULD Your field spell go down(OH no!), be ready to drop a Wizel. The self destruction of the Sin dragons is a valid trigger to summon Wizel.

Use this to your advantage as well: summon a Sin Dragon with no field spell! The opponent will be confused for a bit. Then have his stardust devoured by Wizel.

Also do keep in mind your draw power. Advanced Draw with Sin Dragons is VERY sweet.
ESPECIALLY with Red Eyes.

Thats all for today.

Debris Dragon Control

In today's free match session, it was one of the three decks that went without loss(I think 14 wins in a row? I dont remember)

I thought it was rather interesting. Heres what I remember:

3 Debris, 2 Dandylion to make the core engine
Grow up bulb, Spore, Lonefire for search
3 Evil Thorns and 2 or 1 Super Solar Nutrients
3 Rykos for some good old fashioned destruction
I remember seeing a lot of Limit Reverse as well.
Card Trooper for obvious reasons
2 Gold Sarcophagus, mainly to search out the 3 pot of avarice.

suprising lack of mark of rose, as well as Tytanial.
Whilst no Trap Stun is used, a 2 dust tornado. Also 1 Cold Wave.

Yeah. Thats as well as I can remember.

Also it was played by one of Japan's top 8's. Thats probally why everyone was complaining it was too strong.

Also, Miracle Fusion does not target. Once you activate it, you MUST summon something, if possible, with the remaining available monsters in your graveyard and on your field.(Which is why D.D.Crow is a pain.)

Six Samurai

Just a thought, most of the decks will either be running 2/3 Starlight Road, or Royal Decree.

Their weakness, is, after all, mass monster removal/control

So whats left that gets under these cards yet controls Six Sam?

The only thing I can think of thats practical in siding/maining is Wasteland Tornado. Handles Gate rather well, which is the biggest problem.

International READ YOUR GODDAMN RULEBOOK Day

Tommorow is annual International READ YOUR GODDAMN RULEBOOK Day. (Or IRYGRBD for short.)
A link to last year's post.

Since last year, the committee for IRYGRBD has, in consideration of our younger minds and less than mature friends, to make the spirit and name of International READ YOUR GODDAMN RULEBOOK Day much less vulgar and openly aggressive, and more friendly and considerate.

Similar to International Suit Up Day, Eat a Bagel Like a Boss Day, Do a Backflip Day, National Burn A Watapon day(vids up. It was friday, btw), etc, International READ YOUR GODDAMN RULEBOOK Day is exactly what it says on the cover: a day where you read your goddamn rulebook.

In the spirit of IRYGRBD, we shall devote today to simple, basic, and supposedly understood rules written in the rulebook of Yugioh.

Read it.

Just like last year, instead of thinking we know everything, regardless of who we are, we all as duelists will take time out and sit down and read our rulebook.

Its very simple, and you might think you know it inside and out, but do it anyhows.

So,
Tell a friend!
Spread the word!
Blog about it!
Post on Forums about it!
And if anyone makes a small basic rule this weekend, go ahead and say "READ YOUR GODDAMN RULEBOOK!"

Its the spirit of IRYGRBD, everybody, once they hear of it, should be told to go and read their rulebook, regardless of whatever qualifications they claim to have. Ever.

Dont have a rulebook?
http://www.yugioh-card.com/japan/howto/rule_book.php
Dont run away so easily.

Thats all for today.

Light X Dark Beat Strategizing

So I herd u liek Light n Dark beetz

Sorry for the lack of any explanation for the deck on that day. It was a long and tiring day.

Anyhow, now that I am supposedly free, here it goes

The deck functions off of two concepts:
Information Advantage
and Sideboard Advantage

Information advantage in that the deck can both pretend to be, in the early stages of the game, Light Beat or Blackwings.

It goes without saying that if you know you're running up against Blackwings, your first turn plays will be QUITE different from when you know you're up against Light Beat.

Also, sideboarded cards will be different too. If you beat game 1 with only Blackwings being seen, sided in Holy Lights will be, needless to say, very delicious to eat up with Raiou and Cyber Dragon.

This deck uses this to your advantage, banking off the fact that the opponent will probably misplay his or her first turn(as in: A misplay against your deck, but not against Blackwings/Light Beat).

Sideboard advantage.

Versatility also means that unless a card is efficient against BOTH Light Beat AND Blackwings (pretty much only Snowman Eater, Bottomless, Book), it wont be as effective as it needs to be in the matchup.
Note the Nobleman of Crossouts in the side board. Those will probally come in Game 2 to combat Snowman.

Sideboard advantage is also in your deck as well.
A good player should be able to figure out what the opponent will try to bring in from the side(for the most part), from how much information was shown in the first game/second game.
Hence, this can assist in what to side out(play down), and what to play up.

Although the side deck I chose to use is a lot less fluid and doesnt allow for much change in strategy, this is usually what this kind of deck chooses to play with.(IE: Make your own side deck that works for you.)

As for card choices:

Wizel Infinity tech over Dark Armed Dragon

Despite having two Blizzard, two Chaos Sorc, etc etc, the deck lacks the search power for Dark Armed Dragon(no Pot, No Sarcophagus), yet has problems of controlling the number of dark monsters in the graveyard, both ways, filling up and reducing the count.

As an alternative, Wizel Infinity.
In earlier drafts, I used to try three. That didn't work out so well.

Wizel is good. Wizel is big. Wizel is suprising. Wizel is very problematic to get rid of!
Wizel is also very hard to get out.

Whilst not too useful in some matchups, most decks run Mirror, Torrential, and Dark Hole.

Food for Starlight road, yes, but most of the time you wont be seeing more than one of your monsters out at a time.
This is where Wizel comes in.

Not to mention the sided second copy, in the event we run up against some 3 Smashing 3 Fissure decks.

Any other questions?
Spirit Reaper is Tech.

Thats all for today.

Synchro Material + Formula Synchron

Just make sure you play it right so you dont get screwed over by the rules of the game.

IE: You cannot use synchro Material and Formula Synchron's effect in the same chain(unless you have a monster other than Formula out)

If you only have a formula out, the opponent has priority to activate anything he/she wants before you can chain with Formula's effect eating the opponent's monster. This is AFTER Synchro Material Resolves.

Siding Extra deck cards

In Synchro heavy decks such as Quickdraw Dandy, Extra deck space and more importantly, variability, is crucial.

In such situations, sided Cyber Dragons arent enough to quite cut it, since you havent extra'd Fortress Dragon.

However, decks such as Quickdraw Dandy have limited side change potential, and hence their side decks tend to be sub par compared to other decks such as BF.

Are you willing to sacrifice card slots for Fortress in the side?

THE SIMPLE Metabeat

First off, sorry for lack of post over the weeekend.
APPARENTLY, to Soliel, "you have 16-19 Sept" means "Disappear off the face of the planet for those days".

On the subject of APPLES! The new ipod nano is really fun.

So anyhows, today I'd like to share a working decklist for Metabeat, that is working out quite nicely.

Simple and straightforwards: The Simple Metabeat.

Monsters/モンスター/19
3 Breaker the Magical Warrior/魔道戦士ブレイカー
3 Different Dimension Warrior Lady/異次元の女戦士
3 Cyber Dragon/サイバー・ドラゴン
3 Thunder King Raiou/ライオウ

1 Dark Hole/ブラック・ホール
1 Monster Reborn/死者蘇生

2 Dimension Prison/次元幽閉
2 Dark Bribe/魔宮の賄賂
2 Comulsary Evacuation Device/強制脱出装置
1 Royal Opression/王宮の弾圧
1 Call of the Haunted/リビングデッドの呼び声
1 Solemn Judgement/神の宣告
1 Torrential Tribute/激流葬
1 Starlight Road/スターライト・ロード
1 Mirror Force/聖なるバリアーミラーフォースー

The main reason I chose Dark Bribe over Tools of the Bandit is that the deck already has a heavy life price tag: Solemn Warnings, Opression, and Judgement are already pushing it.

Although it seems that the deck doesnt do well against Decree running decks, Breaker can settle most of those problems.

Thats all for today.

Inferno Monarch

What up everyone

So: Infernity Break.

All 1:1 Cards have restrictions as to where on the field they can hit. Cyclone can only hit the backrow, and Smashing Ground/Fissure cant exactly target what you want some times.

But Infernity Break: WOW.

Most cards that say "Destroy 1 Card on the Field" usually come with some kind of restriction. Its NOT supposed to be free. Raigeki Break requires a discard, and Kuraz gives draws.

The most Infernity Break gives is: Set your entire hand in your backrow(like you wont be doing this anyways), and remove from play the last Infernity Break you used.

But most decks cant function so well with this, because you need SOME infernity cards to run the engine at all.

Note that I said CARD, not MONSTERs.

So what decks can really make punishing pushes with very few cards? Given that they have the correct setup?

Infernities, and Monarchs.

So heres a new concept: Inferno Monarch

Not related in any way to Volcanic, Tectonic, Inflammatory, or otherwise fire-related name'd Monarch decks.

Inferno Monarchy

Monsters: 19
3 Caius the Shadow Monarch
2 Raiza the Storm Monarch
2 Testaros the Firestorm Monarch
1 Dirge the Dark Monarch
2 Vanity Fiend
2 Treeborn Frog
2 Dandylion
2 Gravekeeper's Spy
1 Sangan
2 Infernity Avenger

Spells:11
2 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Monster Reborn
2 Creature Swap
2 Gold Sarcophagus
1 Foolish Burial
3 Book Of Moon

Traps:10
2 Infernity Inferno
3 Infernity Break
1 Raigeki Break
2 Dust Tornado
2 Bottomless Trap Hole

CAN YOU SEE IT??

Of course not. Most people will activate Infernity Inferno to dump both Avengers... Then the 2nd one becomes a dead draw.

NO!

The purpose of Inferno, or at least the main one, is to dump the OTHER Inferno. Infernity Inferno serves as a very powerful deck thinning card, allowing you to clear out your deck of several cards, so you can draw into some Monarchs, or even more removal.
Infernity Break needs an Infernity card in the graveyard to be removed. Infernity Inferno is this card.

That being said, 2 Avengers were included because they make great tribute fodder. Like really good tribute fodder.

Another thing: The lack of Mirror Force/Dark Hole/Torrential Tribute.

So you're telling me that with... I dunno, 75%ish of the deck devoted to direct point removal, you need mass removal, and open yourself to Starlight Roads?

I didnt think so.

Gold Sarcophagus: Helps with that pesky 0 Hand that Infernity Break needs.

So the concept is there: Deck thin with several cards, use Infernity Break, along with a bunch of other removal cards to control the field, and then press for the win gradually with Monarchs and Vanity Fiend.

Class dismissed. Any questions?

Machine Decks have

D Field

Whats one thing that these cards share in common?

Thats right, ANCIENT FAIRY DRAGON ABUSE

Thats all for today.

September 2, 2010

Wizel Infinity Splashing

It makes an interesting addition to beatdown type decks.

Although it cant help you if you get hit by starlight road(missed timing), it does help clean up the Stardust Dragon problem.

Thats all for today.

Lost Star Descent

Seems good with Treeborn Frog + Formula Synchron, no?

August 30, 2010

New Format

Now that I think about it, almost every deck has a good chance in the new format.

Change in play styles of every deck? Yes.

But an equal ground in a sense for a lot of decks?

Also yes.

Isnt that what Konami is shooting for?

August 28, 2010

Revival Rose

Interesting Combination with Pheonixian Cluster Amarylis

Also, Pheonixian Cluster Amarylis can be easily used for Synchro Fodder when combined with some Level Stealer, no?

Thats all for today.

August 26, 2010

New Format

Just thinking...

The banlist leak comes out around the 15th.

Everyone knows it by the 20th(for sure). Confirmed banlist.

Everyone starts making decks/blogging/thinking/playing in the new format around the 25th.

By the 27th, nobody plays the "old" format anymore. You know, the one that is STILL GOING ON.

People have already "converted" to the new format by the 25th.

People stop thinking in the "old format" by a month and a half before the format ends.

Are people thinking too far in the future? Why cant you see into the future and yet remain in the present?

Thats all for today.

Scar Red Nova Dragon

I just realized this guy doesnt retain Red Demon's Dragons/Red Demons Dragon/Buster / Saviour Demons Dragon's monster destruction effect.

Fail?

Still awesome?

Then again it doesnt have a clause to get Red Demons Dragon back when it leaves the field.

Thats all for today.

Warrior

Warrior of the Sun:
2100/1400/Warrior/Light/5
During the damage step of the battle with a DARK monster, this monster gains 500ATK.

Warrior of the Moon:
2100/1400/Warrior/Dark/5
During the damage step of the battle with a LIGHT monster, this monster gains 1000ATK.

:/ Whats with such a big difference?

Are they custom tailored to beat Dark Magician and BEWD?

Chaos Sorcerer at 2

Foolish Burial -> Cross Porter -> Search Neo Spacian -> Activate Convert Contact -> Dump Moss and Panther -> Draw 2.

Summon Cyber Dragon -> Summon Junk Synchron -> Revive Cross Porter -> Synchro Summon Scrap Dragon -> Destroy Cross Porter and an enemy's card. Search Grand Mole.

Summon Chaos Sorcerer. Summon Dark Armed Dragon.

Crimison Hell Flare

Cannot negate Gaius...

Which is very, very sad...

On a completely unrelated note, Red Demons Dragon Beat.deck is turning out quite interestingly, especially now that there are 2 Magic Cylinders to Crimison Hell Flare.

Thats all for today.

August 20, 2010

New Format

Miracle Synchro Fusion seems viable.

Lots of Black Rose flying around

Lots of Black Hole casting

Lots of Starlight Road going off because of said two things

Lots of synchroing still going on.

Lots of Infinity Emperors going around because of the past few reasons.

Gaia Drake, Ultimate Psychicker both seem really good this format due to this.

Thats all for today.

Machine Emperors X Black Rose Dragon

Summon Black Rose Dragon! Destroy Field!

Summon Machine Emperor! Attack direct and open Limiter Removal!

Alternatively:

Summon Black Rose Dragon! Destroy Field!

Chained Starlight Road!

Machine Emperor cannot be summoned due to lost timing!

Thats all for today.

August 18, 2010

New Banlist

It seems like My Body as a Shield will be a bit stronger...

Also, for backrow removal, should we pack Mobius?

As for the reprinted/more usable starlight roads: Two cyclones does combat this "abuse" a bit...

Thats all for today.

Cloudian Wizel

So: Cards that can use Wizel well.

Most of the time, You usually cant be certain when the opponent will destroy your monsters, for you to summon Wizel.

So whats the solution?

Destroy your monsters yourself!

Cloudians maintain field prescence well, generate advantage when theyre summoned, and are generally awesome....

Except theyre clouds. Theyre soft and squishy and you die. Very fast.

The only way to combat this is to use Spirit Barrier or Sanctuary in the Sky.

Also to note is Cloudians, when turned to defence, self destruct.

Some dont like that. We do.

It gives you a controllable timing to summon Wizel. Awesome right?

And when Wizel is beating down, you dont have to worry about advantage lost because of Cloudians, which generate the advantage gap right back.

And Sin Stardust. Because its just awesome.

Cloudian Sin Wizel Beat Control Stall Permission.deck

Monsters 22
3 Zeradias, Herald of Heaven
3 Machine Emperor Wizel Infinity
3 Cloudian - Turbulence
2 Cloudian - Smoke Ball
3 Cloudian - Cirrostratus
3 Cloudian - Altus
3 Cloudian - Acid Cloud
2 Sin Stardust Dragon

Spells 12
3 Sanctuary in the Sky
3 Book of Moon
2 Pot of Duality
3 Cloudian Squall

Traps 7
1 Solemn Judgement
3 Dark Bribe
1 Mirror Force
2 Bottomless Trap Hole

Next big thing?

I dunno.

Exodius

Can be used to send effect monsters to the graveyard...

also functions as an interesting monarch fodder generator.

Snake Rain instantly pumps it to 5000 ATK.

I'm supposed to write some interesting comboes with this guy, but I really dont have much.

3 Exodius, 3 Battle Fader, 3 Miracle Dig. Makes interesting Monarchs.

Thats all for today.

August 9, 2010

Spell Shattering Arrow

It absolutely wrecks Dragunity Beatdown decks.

It functions as a Heavy Storm or Malevolent Catastrophe, causing Aclys to destroy their own cards, yet without being as valuable game-wise as the two.

Dragunity Aclys

Q: If this card is not face up on the resolution of its special summoning effect, will the monster still be special summoned?
A: Yes, but Aclys will not be equipped to the monster.

Trivia: If you summon Levaetin/Misteal through this way, and Aclys is sent to the grave/removed from play before Aclys resolved, you can get the equipping effect off Levaetien/Misteal.

Q: Do you select the monster to special summon when activating the effect?
A: No. only at resolution.

Thats all for today.
