Dueling Network post omg

Call me cynical or frank,

but Dueling Network is going to be hit with a Cease and Decease letter...

Soon, or eventually.

Unfortunate, yes.

Horrible, yes.

Konami IS losing profits to Dueling Network, which is the "basis" they will use.

How this works:

1: You think of a deck idea/steal one off of the genius people from Team Alcoholic Beverages

2: Instead of building the deck and testing it, you go to Dueling Network, and build it and test it.

3: It doesnt really work BECAUSE YOURE PLAYING IT WRONG

But focus on #2, shall we.

Konami is missing profits...

" Instead of building the deck and testing it, you go to Dueling Network, and build it and test it."

yeah right around here, yeah.

Yes, most of us know of a wonderful thing called Proxies, but still...

The unfortunate truth is that Dueling Network is going to end... Sooner than you think, because its that good.

Until then, for those who lost to me, I have to say...

Seriously? W.T.F.

  1. Then why isn't YVD shut down?

Also, the site is filled with noobs and only a 1000 people can be on the site at once. Might as well mention that the players have lives (most of them) and the fact that you can't play matches is a real turn off.

I played on the site a lot yesterday only because it has the new Dark World cards and that was it.

Finally, it helps Konami more since if people test decks and that deck works well then people will buy the cards. I decided I'm going to pick up three of the new Dark World SD when they're finally released after testing the deck yesterday.

But hey, this is Konami we're talking about, they won't mind shutting down the best dueling website on the net, but let a shitty website like www.yugiohnetwork.com live (ugh).

  2. Konami could also be making profit too. It keeps people hyped. Dark Worlds have already been shown to be powerful on DN, so now everybody will buy it. =P

    It can work both ways.

  4. What I'm surprised about is YVD... that hasn't ended either... Nor has Magic Workstation... Nor has KCVDS... I doubt they will receive a Cease and Desist order due to the fact that Konami loses no profit and that they don't receive any kind of payment...

Konami would only lose profit if this hurt direct sales of Cases of product (Which is where Konami's YGO money comes from (Aside from Tourney's)). People who test and build said decks on DN will either eventually buy packs from a retailer or buy online (Neither of which directly help Konami... as Konami gets no money from individual packs or boxes sold or cards for that matter... If they don't buy then IMO they are wasting their time...

If anything the only reason they could close it is because it would promote them without their permission...

  6. Not to mention there are geeks who played for days that keep winning on the net (tho he isnt that pro) but he just enjoy the joy of winning and refused to face the truth that he will lose in the reality, so they will choose to play on the net over in real life, thus, he/she wont be buying any products from konami anymore. Also, cards like dualities arent that cheap and easy to get in real life.

  7. Except for playing free, I don't see a reason why I should be playing DN rather than join friends or meet pros.

You don't touch the cards, you don't know opponent's facial expression after your MST does not hit their Warning. You can't draw any inference from opponents' speed of play - slow play can be caused by slow internet connections.

More importantly, you meet noobs. I cannot imagine someone calling PRIORITY to activate Braker's effect when he just summons it. I cannot accept someone using Rai-oh's effect to negate my summon of Silva.

Although to be frank, I don't want DN to shut down. Something is better than nothing.

  8. using yvd/kcvds/whatever still being present is not a good argument, because there have also been softwares that have indeed been shut down by konami's command...so as soon as it gets too close to the actual game, konami will take notice.

  9. The strange thing is, back when Konami demanded DMU to be taken down, it seemed to be more because it uses icons from the GBA games than because it allowed people to play Yugioh. Konami hasn't made a sign of being annoyed by the fact that any service at all offers online play of the game.

  10. Konami makes too much money to thanks to these kinds of promotion... It's how you test things before you have to pay for them... once you know what works you'll shell out for it... like Dark Worlds... meaning thats Structure will sell well due to it getting to be tested pre-release on a widespread scale.

  11. Loving Duelingnetwork. I find it great to test different kinds of decks to see if they work or not with specific cards, before you spend a load of cash on them (for example a PoD or 2 warnings).
And believe me, not all decks improve with either.
