"This card" not "This Monster"
Makes a big difference.
For example:
When Pachy/Vanity Fiend/Christia is equipped as an equip monster, it retains its "No special summoning"
Jinzo confers its trap stopping power to its equip monster'd self.
Oh and did I mention Dragunity Arms Laevatiin equipping a Core Chimail Dragon is really cool?
G-Ray Out.
I checked the ruling on the Japanese Wikia:
ReplyDeleteQ:《D-HERO Bloo-D》によって装備カードにされた場合、罠カードの発動を封印し効果を無効にする永続効果は残りますか?
A:いいえ、モンスターではなくなるため永続効果は発揮されません。
I guess once a monster is a equipment, it loses all its monsters effect. It has nothing to do with the way the card is being text. Pls correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

That is incorrect. Unless stated, a monster treated as an Equip Spell has no effs.
ReplyDeleteBut the point still is, even though it is no longer a monster, the card's text indicates that when "this card is on the field" regardless of it being treated as a monster or spell.
ReplyDeleteAnd even still, it doesn't state that it negates monster's effects upon being equipped to X monster.
This is a very curious fact, yes. But I want to find out if it's possible or not because the "this card" VS "this monster" argument seems pretty valid to me.
I just want to know...because I had a deck idea based on this post.
