So people dont really like what the new Yugioh Series is giving us...
And/or didnt like the premise.
I dont see much problem.
Not that I watch the anime, but still.

New series looks good in my opinion. It totally fits with the original idea of the ORIGINAL series + the GX (however, in story Original Series was better, but it was lack some original cards). So maybe the new series will be like "a series with the original's atmosphere but with new cards".

YGO: the first series, so any problem they had can't be adressed too strongly. The catch is, they had nothing to be angry about (bar the Doma and Grand Championship arcs, which were absolute filler and made any duelist in them look like fools)
ReplyDeleteGX: the second series. While at the beginning it was pretty fun to watch (even the english version was acceptable) it became horrid when you realized that, no matter what, Jaden/Judai always seemed to be totally doomed and them he turns the duels around with the most situational cards ever thought and even worse, printed. The second half of the third season was amazing, but it was too late for him and his series. I didn't like the last season too much, but it was acceptable at least. I deem GX as the worst of the 3 series.
5D's: the third and presumably last series. It took off pretty nicely... until the Dark Signer arc finished. Then, if you saw someone dueling, it had to be Yusei vs anyone or anything, and Yusei always won à la Jaden/Judai, using extremely situational cards. The series is trying to redeem itself with the Arc Cradle arc, but knowing that Yusei will just summon an extremely situational Synchro monster that is impossible to summon and win, I doubt it will. The motorcycles were a bit cool and a bit funny at the beginning, but later they became atrociusly ridiculous. Seriously... "Card games on motorcycles"? What?!
ZEXAL: the fourth series, and apparently not the last. I watched some pics, and I really disliked the characters design. It reminds me of GX so much... Yuma is Jaden/Judai, Ryoga is Chazz/Manjoume, Yuma's cheerleader is Alexis/Asuka, Astral is Atem, and the bullied boy is Chumley/Hayato. As for now I'll give it some time, but I'm not liking how is it looking.
